Direnis Karatay is an historical Turkish Movie based on the resistance of Ameer Jalaluddin Karatay against Mongols. In the middle of the 13th century, following the death of Seljuk Sultan Alauddin Keykubat, Mongol commander Noyan attacks Anatolian Seljuks to destroy the last power against "The Great Khan". Ameer Jalaluddin Karatay, with the dream of a new and stronger state, plans to prepare a great secret nationwide resistance against this oppression of the people. He establishes a school, which graduates help Ertugrul Ghazi and Osman Ghazi in the establishment of great Ottoman Empire.

This is an historic movie based on the life of the great Seljuk Sultan "Alp Arslan (Brave Lion)".  The  Battle of Malazgirt  was fought between the  Byzantine Empire  and the  Seljuk Empire  on 26 August 1071 near Manzikert  when Sultan Alp Arslan, only with about 18,000 soldiers, defeated the opposite side of around 150,000 soldiers.
